Lube Your Joints

Human joints are similar to metal joints in that they require lubrication. The body produces natural oil called hyaluronan. Increasing the natural oil decreases wear and tear from impact, running injuries, and arthritis. This was written by Stone Clinic (www.StoneClinic.com) who created Joint Juice and who are great with knees, their specialty.

Lube Your Joints With:
• Glucosamine: Glucosamine stimulates the production of hyaluronan, and it also increases the natural building blocks of the joint cartilage called glycosaminoglycans. These natural sugars absorb water and cushion the joint from impact.

Healthy Eating

I have been watching the BBC series “You Are What you Eat” and heard surprising information on the effects of food on stress, in addition to the common information on the effects of eating habits on health, feelings of well-being, self-image, and other factors that are enormously important, especially as we go through changes and may be plagued with self-doubt.

Women’s Health Study

I was amazed at the results from this study that I received from the Center for Media Research (May 26, 2008 “Appearance and Weight Trumps Disease in Women’s Concerns”). It makes we think that we women should *change* our priorities!!

“According to a the second in a series of findings from the Meredith/NBC Universal “What do Women Want?”, when it comes to health, 56% of women are more concerned about diet/weight and 36% about eating right, while only 23% express the same degree of concern about cancer, 20% about heart health, and 18% about diabetes.

The nationwide survey among more than 3,000 women reveal key insights on the female psyche across topics including health and well-being. Many women are skipping important medical examinations, annual physicals and screenings:

* Less than two-thirds (59%) of all women [Read more →]

Dark Chocolate Improves Blood Flow

I love it when this happens!! I am a chocoholic and now I find out it is
good for me!! I have heard to try to only eat chocolate that is 70% cocoa
or more, which works well for me, since I prefer dark chocolate. If you do
not have a taste for dark chocolate, you might try it. It may grow on you.
Chocolate also helps with serotonin, which means it is a mood elevator!!!
What a wonderful discovery! I find that a bit of chocolate takes the ‘edge’
off nearly any depressing situation.

UCSF scientists are publishing sweet results of a study examining dark
chocolate’s effects on blood vessel function in healthy people. For the
complete story see: UCSF Today.
